On 10th February, a five-week intensive course for the Trinity Certificate in TESOL started at IPC. There are 14 trainees participating in this course, some of them current IPC students or graduates. During the course, some of the trainees live on IPC Campus.
Authorized by Trinity College of London, this Trinity Certificate in TESOL is for those who want to teach English as a Second Language in New Zealand or overseas. It covers a range of subjects that include methodology of teaching, language awareness, and teaching techniques. Please go to www.trinitycollege.co.uk for more information.
During this course, the trainees will experience the learning process through unknown language sessions, where they are placed in a classroom situation that is taught in a language they do not know. On this current course, the unknown language is Italian.
Moreover, the teacher trainees will be guided through a series of teaching practices where they will work with small groups, one to one learners and whole classroom teaching.
At the successful completion of the course, the trainees will be presented with a Trinity Certificate in TESOL, a qualification that is widely accepted around the world. Some of the trainees will also be offered teaching positions in IPC associated schools in Japan.
The next course is due to be run in June or July. Contact us now or click here for more information.
